There have been numerous studies on the resistance of bacteria to commonly used topicals, namely chlorhexidine gluconate. This is concerning, as there are widespread reports on the progression of multidrug-resistant bacterial strains. New, novel approaches to the treatment of such resilient infections are available. This presentation will address this problem of resistance that veterinary medicine is facing and how we can incorporate these new approaches to therapy into a comprehensive treatment plan.
