The impact of idiopathic epilepsy and canine cognitive dysfunction syndrome on quality of life is significant, making management of both diseases of great importance to veterinarians and pet owners. This webinar will review how to diagnose each syndrome and current therapy options, including potential adverse effects of medications. Recently, studies have shown a benefit to feeding medium-chain triglycerides for idiopathic epilepsy and feeding medium-chain triglycerides along with a brain-protection blend of nutrients for cognitive dysfunction syndrome. A multimodal approach using medications, nutritional management, and environmental/behavior modification may offer the best chance for improved patient outcomes.
