Jaguar Webinar (10/27/2022)
More clients are selecting chemotherapy treatment when presented with a canine cancer diagnosis. Access to chemotherapy and the use of tyrosine kinase inhibitors to treat cancer is increasing, but their associated side effects can be treatment-limiting factors that the clinician must consider. In this webinar, Dr. Clifford will discuss the incidence of chemotherapy-induced diarrhea (CID) in dogs and the burden of disease for both the dog and the owner. He will also address treatment options for CID to keep it from interfering with the prescribed chemotherapy treatment regimen, including a plant-based, nonantibiotic, nonopioid product that is the only antidiarrheal conditionally approved by FDA to treat CID in dogs.
What You'll Learn
- The incidence and burden of CID in dogs
- Assessment of the severity of CID and implementation of appropriate treatment options
- The judicious use of antimicrobials in the treatment of CID
- Clinical pharmacology and clinical profile of the only FDA conditionally approved product to treat CID in dogs
