With an ever-growing industry reaching across a multitude of species, the different pharmacokinetics of hemp products in dogs, cats, rodents, primates, birds, and horses creates new challenges in establishing global dosing recommendations. This lecture will focus on comparative pharmacology of hemp extracts, the promise and pitfalls of potential CBD applications in these species, and possible ways to optimize absorption, including transdermal approaches.

ElleVet is a hemp CBD+CBDA product developed specifically for dogs to help with comfort, joint function, and mobility. The product was developed based on scientific evidence and proven safety and is veterinarian-approved. Clinical trials at Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine have showed significant improvement in dogs treated with this hemp CBD+CBDA product as compared with those given a placebo. Five additional clinical studies are currently underway to test the product on dogs with the most common signs of discomfort. The product comes in small and large palatable chews and oils for picky eaters.
