ElleVet (01/21/2021)
It is estimated that there are more than 29 million dogs and cats living in households that receive Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits in the United States. To both provide veterinary care to underserved communities and learn how to better serve those communities in the future, ElleVet founded the 501c3 ElleVet Project. This webinar will debate and discuss best practices and lessons learned, including the cases involving use of medications and nutraceuticals in which the likelihood of follow-up is low, and the need for pairing education with spay/neuter practices.
What You'll Learn
- The importance of underserved veterinary patients to human, animal, and public well-being
- Case studies and community input regarding cases observed and management of more complicated cases
- Best practices for setting up a field medical clinic based on the needs of these communities
- The nuts and bolts of setting up a spay/neuter high throughput program and how to get veterinarians, students and the community involved
