A recent study examined the effect of NSAIDs on renal function in healthy cats undergoing routine dental prophylaxis. Subjects received either saline, meloxicam, or carprofen subcutaneously at the time of preanesthetic medication. Before and after the procedure, kidney function was assessed by measuring glomerular filtration rate (GFR) and/or N-acetyl-β-D-glucosaminidase (NAG), a novel urine biomarker for renal damage.

Find out how these patients’ renal function fared in this From Page to Patient research summary, and get pearls you can put into practice.
